If you are familiar with little snitch, think of it as a 'Network Snitch'. Oct 11, 2014 Snowden ran like a little snitch. Jamie T D on October 11, 2014 4:30 pm I generally don’t watch documentaries in the cinema but I will make an expection for Citizenfour. Why do I get an alert from Little Snitch when checking for updates, with a web site that I don’t recognize? We use Amazon’s AWS S3 cloud download service to serve updates (and many other downloads that we provide), and the IP address for “s3.amazonaws.com” (the hostname for Amazon’s S3 service) may reverse-resolve to any one of a number of domains that also use this service. Sep 19, 2017 a local firewall (hands off & little snitch are handy commercial ones for mac) will help you catch these kinds of info leaks (i caught this one a long time ago because of mine). It does come with a time cost however-little popups every time you launch a new application or connect to a new service that you have to evaluate and handle, since you. I saw heavy CPU usage,d then a large upload and checked Little Snitch to see that nsurlsessionid is connecting to 'docs.bigassfans.com'. I know that nsurlsessionid is a system process that syncs to iCloud but docs.bigassfans.com and the relationship with Apple? Docs.bigassfans.com, if typed into Safari's address bar, shows a XML file like.

Prerequisites
DescriptionHi, I run Little Snitch on my laptop and I frequently see Atom attempting to make a connection to the gh-contractor-zcbenz.s3.amazonaws.com s3 bucket:Sometimes this happens when an update is being installed, when I open Atom, or when I download a new package. I see that zcbenz is one of the top contributors to Atom and I'm sure this is all above board but the name is a bit disconcerting to me. Can you clarify how this bucket is used, and under what circumstances a connection is made? Is it in a personal AWS account or in a Github owned AWS account? etc Thanks, Steps to ReproduceNot 100% clear Expected behavior: Actual behavior: Reproduces how often: Uad vst free download. From atom/apm#322 (comment) it appears that several of the atom.io/download links are 302 redirects to that bucket. I'm guessing that you are seeing this when Atom is checking for package updates. That particular comment is rather old, but I'm guessing that you are hitting similar redirects to that bucket Thanks for reaching out! Because we treat our issues list as the Atom team's backlog, we close issues that are questions since they don't represent a task needing to be completed. For most questions about Atom there are a lot of options, check out:

If you enable ~/Library/Mobile Documents and drop a file in here, Little Snitch will ask if you want to allow UDP traffice to Amazon. At first I thought, 'Gee, Apple is using Amazon S3 to do iWork file sharing between iPad, iPhone and the Mac.' But then I tried creating a permanent rule in Little Snitch to deny this UDP traffic and the filles still synchornize immediately between macs. I hope someone else can suggest what this might be. I'm clueless.
